Animefest 2015 Fan Video Contest - Winners Announced

I've been asked if we accept international submissions - and yes, we do. If an international submission is an award winning video, we will ship the video editor the award plaque or medallion (whichever the convention goes with this year), just as we do if an American video editor submits a video but isn't present at the convention.

Let me ask a question for people who run and participate in other contests. For the Animefest AMV contest, I require a link to download the video, but I don't accept just a link to a youtube video. Is that behind the times? Do other contests accept a link to a youtube video?

I have never actually seen a contest that accepts YouTube links so no they don't so no need to worry about that :DD It's cool of you to ask to make sure so thanks!

We've got ten days left until the submission deadline for the Animefest 2015 AMV contest! Get those videos in! If you'll forgive me for fishing for a moment, I'd love to see more Comedy and Drama vids.

I should be posting the list of finalists by 8/19. It may be an incomplete list - there were some finalists who submitted their video using their real name that I would like to contact and see if they would prefer that I use a pseudonym or studio name.

There are other creators who made the finals list, and who have been contacted individually. They haven't given me specific permission to list their real name here, so I will hold off on doing so. I would like to give my congrats to all of the finalists, and to encourage those who didn't make the list to keep on making their videos. We got a lot of great submissions this year, and narrowing it down to a finalist list is always filled with tough decisions and close calls.
