You'd be surprised, Otakon has always been good about pushing the line and letting things through that other cons might not.

I think its my first time in finals here as well. Never have anything eligible most years, so I don't bother.

Happy to have made the cut, sad to see others who did not. Pity. Otakon AMV contests just don't feel like Otakon without Scintilla, Maboroshi and/or l33tmeatwad. Hope the others and I can make up the slack.

Wish I could have checked the pre-screenings but I didn't have an ark big enough to sail through all the rain that weekend. Really want to see what Maboroshi sent in now.

Well, the return to finals will have to wait another year for me. I only hope it doesn't stretch out to a 37-year wait. Looks like my newest AMV will have to debut elsewhere.

To be honest, after seeing what I was up against, I was a very long shot for making finals. Although my category had fewer entries than usual, I saw several very strong entries in it, and they deserved to be finalists.

It is nice to see Doug (Drabaz) and Bridget (Krigen) and Parodic Productions and Rider4Z in the finals, though! Congratulations on making the cut!

Also, after finding out whose video was Scott's (l33tm33twad), it's sad that he didn't make the cut this year; then again, I think as prescreeners, we made one heck of a statement on our scoresheets about it!

Nonetheless, I think this should be a pretty good contest despite the lower turnout than usual. Enjoy!

Just realized, this will be the first time I've been to a convention and not had a video in the contest, this should be an interesting experience.

Oh, and I hope that's the order the AMVs are getting played in... It'd be really fun to close the contest, never done that before!

It has been a while - I can't remember which year but I remember being really impressed by your Angel Beats AMV years ago. Given that I'm not sure which video was yours, looking forward to your submission for this year!

First off, very kind of you to say! I think it was way back in 2011 when that was in the contest! I wish I could say that if you liked that, you'll like the new one... but... they are so COMPLETELY different...

And man, I kinda can't believe some of the people who didn't make it in! You guys are so talented, best of luck to you next time submitting! I'm sure your videos will find a good home somewhere!

I've only been to Otakon once and I hadn't entered. It's kinda fun to just sit back and relax without having a horse in the race.
