Duels to the death would be nice, but we'd love to get our hands on some videos featuring Angels & Demons dueling. :)

- Qualifying AMV Contest video entries must have been created within one (1) year of the Tekko 2015 start date (after April 16, 2014), have not been previously submitted to past Tekko / Tekkoshocon contests, and have not won "Best In Show", "Best in (specific category, i.e. Drama, Action, etc.)", or equivalent at any other convention contest during that year.
- There is no limit to the number of submissions you can give as long as it has not premiered in any Tekko / Tekkoshocon AMV contest prior nor in another AMV contest 2 or more years ago.
Is the age limit 1 or 2 years?

Also, the Angels and Demons category - must a single entry contain both or is one or the other ok?

The former applies only to the Main Contest, whereas the latter applies only to the Extreme Contest. We give entries for the Extreme contest a longer "freshness" date, as it is a separate contest with a specific focus.

The Theme category is for any videos that focus on angels, demons, or angels and demons both. It doesn't have to be both to qualify for the category.

FYI. From 6pm EST on Feb 17th to 2am EST on Feb 18th the FTP server will be down for hardware maintenance and upgrades. During this time the FTP server will not be available to accept any submitted entries. You can still submit entry forms and everything as normal from the entry system, this only effects the ability to create new FTP accounts and accept submitted entries. Do not worry, your data is safe on the server and will still be there after the maintenance.

Notification has gone out to all current entrants regardless of their entry status and communication will go out again once the FTP server is back up. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience while I replace a few broken drives and upgrade some pieces of network equipment.

Tonight's maintenance has been canceled. Turns out one of the replacement disks was DOA and I'm waiting a replacement. I am expecting a new drive tomorrow, however in preparation for this change tonight I have moved the contest data to another array currently in good health (along with a backup elsewhere) and pointed the FTP system to this new location. FTP is currently up and running and there is no plan to take it down for an extended period of time now. Instead, once the new array is up and running I will migrate data over in a rolling fashion and update the pointers for the FTP system as they move. I will not move any data that is currently being written when it is time to move and allow entrants the time to upload any entries if they desire.

In other words, the next maintenance, planned for tomorrow around the same time, will happen behind the scenes and should have no effect to ya'll. So feel free to use the FTP as normal.

TL;DL - FTP is up and ya'll can use it.

Hi, everyone:

Just over two weeks to the deadline, and we still need a lot more videos!

Also, after consultation with the AMV staff and based on requests we have received, we have decided to amend one of the qualification rules to the contest. The change, in italics below:

- Qualifying AMV Contest video entries must have been created within one (1) year of the Tekko 2015 start date (after April 16, 2014), have not been previously submitted to past Tekko / Tekkoshocon contests, and have not won three (3) or more "Best In Show" or "Best in (specific category, i.e. Drama, Action, etc.)"at any other convention contest during that period, not including videos that have won Staff-based (Coordinator's Choice, Staffer's Choice) or Technical Judging Awards (Best Artistic, Best Storytelling, etc.).

If you have any questions about this rule change or what awards fall within the limits, please let me know by PM.

Keep those videos coming! :D
