All of the violence and anguish and despair would still be there. The difference is that all of the psycho-bullshit would be replaced with a plot that made sense and character development that got somewhere.

In case you're wondering about those pink bunnies, they are now decorating the treads of said tanks.
i would have ended like Death and rebirth did. hinting of things to come but not directly killing evoryone off.

no its not. thats basically what the series ending did by not finishing the story off at all. And fans bitched and moaned and sent anno death threats about it.

i would have ended it in ordily fashion, u know, shinji taking the EVA and killing everything in site range, after he finally gets some sense and brings them back then goes insane again cause asuka still ahtes him and he kills everything again. Perfect ending. o don't forget the bunnies and doves after he suicides

My ideal end of eva....... (?)





All hell breaks loose much like episode 25 (EOE version). Ep 26- Eva 01 pops out, snarling and brooding, quadrupledal (much like ep 19) then actively rips 05-12 to pieces, and urinates on the corpse and chugs a giant eva 40. About this time unit 13 attacks and is instantly thrown to the ground; and Unit 01 fucks it in the ass for dominance. Then unit 02 starts snarling and brooding and eva one smacks her bitch up, rips auska out of the entry plug and pops her head off Karou style. Eva 01 chugs another beer. The all pissed and drunk like eva rips through the geo-front searching for Gendo and rei. Rei shoots Gendo, but is a bad shot and merely knicks his arm. About this time 01 enters still snarling and brooding. Unit 01 picks up Gendo and pops his head off. Then Rei becomes infatuated with shinji but shinji, having grown balls slams her to the ground and fucks her in the ass for dominance. About this time Misato (having miraculously heal from her near fatal wounds) enters super pissed. She goes crinos, and rips shinjis body apart, then eats his brain and becomes powerful. A bout this time I go crinos and then crinos were-pornography. The world shakes apart with the power of our were-sex, all is well, God is pleased, the end.

Whoops, when I refered to the hollow imagery in EoE I was only talking about everything that happened after Shinji finally got in Unit 1. It was going great up until that point. And then stuff happened. Pretty stuff, admittedly, but nothing more that stuff.

Monarch, I've got to disagree with you about the original ending. The philosophy wasn't the main point that the show was trying to get across. It was mearly the method that the characters used to figure themselves out. I enjoyed it quite a bit, though I think it would have been better if the visuals had been more interesting. Heh, I think that the "alternate universe" scene is probably one of my favorites thoughout the entire series.

Well, I would've LOVED the original ending in episodes 25 and 26; it was incredibly deep and well made...my problem was the character development. Everyone got so far and then they just....stopped and that was it, well, except shinji, but if it was only about Shinji, then why did they put all the other characters' developments in there?! It bugged the fucking hell out of me. Then in Death and Rebirth, Asuka finally realizes who and what she is, then what happens...SHE FUCKING DIES!!! The one character that actually grows up and they kill her off. Seems like the theme of the show for some reason...

Yes she does, not that it matters because everyone "dies"

Personally I'd have done a brilliant and enlightening introspective ending for the TV series and then when people cried out to see what actually happened I'd do a brutal but powerful apocalyptic claimax in a movie.

Oh wait....
