A good CD Aduio Ripper. Got one? I do!

Post by Jason 00 » Mon Dec 30, 2002 9:55 pm

I know that I am still a newbie here, but I am not the type to just to continually ask for stuff and not give anything back. I have used a very good CD audio ripper called dbpowerAmp. It can be found here> http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm You may already know about this little program (1.5MB) or you may not. It will rip the audio files off of any music CD including enhanced CD's and create an MP3 or WAVE file. It will create the file at whatever quality you set it for. (24kbps - 320kbps) Creating a WAVE file at highest setting results in a music file that runs at 1,411kbps. (pretty cherry) Best of all it's free and cotains no adware or spyware!!!!! :D :D :D Check it out if you don't alraedy have it!

(I hope I set up the hyperlink right)

Theres also EAC which makes perfect copies of Cd's. I don't trust anything else to rip. Who knows what sort of jitter/error correction (if any) dbpoweramp uses.

Both programs are mentioned in the audio section of the guide on this site.

EAC is the most accurate CD audio ripper you can get and supports nearly every compression technique available. DBpoweramp music convertor is a very useful and efficient audio format conversion program, but it's not the best cd ripper.

I'm sorry but ripping striat to MP3 sounds like shit, so sais I the allmighty audiophile. I use NTI to rip a nice high quality WAV and then convert it using CDex. Otherwise you loose serious quality. Don't belive me? Compare most of the 256's out there to most of the 320's.
