There are plenty of restrictions. They mostly have to do with age-appropriateness of content. You'll need to clarify the question a bit better.TheInvisibleBlackxX wrote:I think its worth sending something to the contest. There are no country restrictions right??

I mean, I can still enter even if I do not live in the US right? Cause I didn't read something like that in the rules and I wanted to be sure

Got a huge rush of entries in the last week or so, but there's plenty of room left for more, so get those entry forms in.

Re: Connecticon 2013 FMV Contest - Deadline June 15
So, I'm getting a tremendous number of entries from Eastern Europe by people who don't seem to understand a few of the rules... If someone here passed the info of the contest around to the Russian and Czech communities, could they perhaps add some explanations about the rules that seem to be constantly overlooked... namely:
1) What the word "footage" means.
2) Acceptable footage for the contest includes commercially produced stuff, not videos you shot yourself.
3) What "PG-13 with no f-bombs" means.
I'm having surprising difficulty conveying this information through email, and it keeps coming up over and over. Never had this problem before with AAC, and the language barrier isn't helping.
-------------
On a contest note - We've gotten way more non-anime entries this year than this contest is used to. That's kinda cool. We can use as many quality entries as people want to send us though, so keep 'em coming.
P.S. I'm told by the con execs that the trophies this year are a lot nicer than they were last year.

I won last year and never received those trophies you mentionedBasharOfTheAges wrote: P.S. I'm told by the con execs that the trophies this year are a lot nicer than they were last year.

Well, about the russian community, we could talk in private about who's joining and have a talk with them about this... if you want of course, at some cases, it might be trolling nor really that they didn't understand the rules. I got the feeling I'm battling this year my mates since we didn't have any tournament this year, bringing the battle to Connecticon is going to be awesome

About the contest, since I reached my limit for the competing entries, may I be able to submit a non competing entry with non-anime footage?

I don't really have time for non-competes this year. I shortened the time block to get times that weren't too early in the morning, so if there even is a pre-show its going to be a bunch of non credited fast things during seating.
For last year's trophies, you're going to have to talk to kiarrens.

People who want accounts should fill out their entry forms soon. People who haven't uploaded and were given account already should think about uploading. I'm going to spend a good portion of this weekend going through entries and sending out DQ warnings. Can't say for sure there's going to be time to provide that courtesy afterwards.
