what can you people tell me about the anime and manga? at alucards FON's house his bro made us watch the whole series. I didn't know what in the flaming monkey fuck was going on sicne the eps were so crappy RM would have been a step up (Hell, RM would have been a fucking flight of stairs.) So what can you guys tell be about this anime?

I got a lot of it, and all I can say is my bro hyped it up WAY more than it was worth. Most of the characters were annoying as hell, except for Judeau and a few others, and the ending sucked shit without reading the manga, which I will not be doing.

I believe I established how the encoding was so bad Real Media at any bitrate would have beat it out. And gatz was cool, so was judeau, and Griffith, she is like the hotest aniem chick EVER!

Uhhhh...Griffith is male (bishounen). And why are you watching crap realvideo instead of at least renting the R1 DVDs which are superb in their A/V quality? Oh, and if your spelling and grammar are an indication of anything, you aren't old enough to be watching Berserk, certainly not the last handful of episodes anyways...

That being said, Berserk is the story of Guts, an orphen whose life has been cursed as he was born from a dead mother. Sorry, no spoilers out of me.

guts is the americanized version of his name .. just look at the DC title game to see that....

His name is Guts. It is printed on the action figure boxes, used in the official R1 DVD translations, and appears in the Dreamcast game, R2 DVD menu backgrounds, and in the artbooks. I personally asked the fansubber why he used "Gatts" instead, and his answer was that he felt "Guts" would look stupid so he changed it. "Gatts" is actually a proper romanization, as "Guts" becomes "Gaatsu" which can be written in English as "Gatts". There's other similarities in the names of the other characters (Caska/casket, Corkus/carcas) but using those as-is would look too strange and as such they are spelled in an altered fashion on the DVDs. Seeing as how Media Blasters has a 20 min. interview with Kentaro Miura (the manga artist) on the DVD, I would think they cleared all name spellings with him or his representatives.

I have seen the DC game, and have woudlnt be surprized at all if they had done the same for the DVD's, but the fansubs said gats, and when you look at the bang up job done for the subbing in US DVD's I'll stick to the fan subs.

I would like to point out that Gatts's and Griffith's gay water romp in like the third episode was terrible. I was expecting them to begin playing grab ass at any second.
