So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

Sure its legal I can't imagine why not, unless its from cuba o_O Ghost in the shell is still being aired so you wont see it for awhile but its already licensed by bandai I think. Theres also Hks which alot of ppl do, although its not any better than fansubs morally @_@CaTaClYsM wrote:and is buying imports even legal?

The first thing that Im going to recomend that you do is put a little effort in and do the google search yourselfCaTaClYsM wrote:Ghost in the shell stand alone complex, Macross Zero, Azumanga Daioh.

And second Im going to recomend you go to The Gamers Website. Gamers is like the coolest store in all of Japan, Ive only been there once but it was like a pilgramige. Plus they import lots of stuff. Unfortunately, thats for other referance, because they dont have any of the series you are looking for availible on the English site.
Third, I found a whole bunch of cool Region 2 DVDs at this site (including Macross Zero) http://www.animefu.com/index.pl?lastnod ... de_id=3091
But really, Im just doing your google work now. You can find it, its all there!

Except for the awful quality of the footage and the lack of personal intagrety. Thats all.klinky wrote:GUYS :O
Think of it this way...
We don't care where you got your footage from. Just as long as you don't tell us![]()
Unless there's a big fat "THIS IS RAW ANIME THAT HE DOWNLOADED OFF THE INTERNET, KILL HIM PLEASE!!!" logo in the upper right corner of your source then no one will be the wiser.

maybe YOU need to do a little more research .... you would be surprized at the quality that some people are acheiveing these days. and dont try and respond to this like you know what you are talking about .. I have seen DVD quality on plenty of downloadable anime to know that YOU are wrong. (not that i use that type of footage.) lol ... this scene is such a sham.

Well obviously we'd know where you got the footage if you have a CN logo in it, or if you have some fansubers(why they would release RAW anime ???) logo in one of the corners.
Yes, most of the time though you can acheive pretty good quality.
Also I've seen some AMVs that use legit R1 DVDs that look crappier then something that would have been made via fansubs/good raws. Mainly since the person didn't know that they were doing. Poor encoding, no IVTC or de-interlacing >_<
Yeah...
So you can't really go to everyone on this site who has a AMV with out crystal clear video footage and say "You downloaded your footage didn't you!!!!!!"
Also we don't know about their personal/moral integrity unless they told us they used it downloaded or illegally obtained footage.
