Funny story in general... My new office has a kitchenette where people routinely put out free food they bring in for anyone who wants to take it. Some of it is company furnished (free bagels and stuff from Panera every week), but a lot is just brought in by people that do a lot of baking or want to just be nice. It's understood that food out on the counters in there is free to take. Yesterday, there was a box filled with Halloween candy next to a bowl of fresh fruit. It felt like a psych experiment. I took candy and a bunch of other people did too. Today, I went back to the box, took some more candy. The box seemed kinda low, so it looked like a lot of people were taking candy yesterday. I went back to the kitchenette at lunch time to grab something from the fridge and noticed someone had placed a printed sign above the box that wasn’t there up until then. It said the candy was being collected by a boy scout troupe to send to soldiers.

I laughed my ass off all the way back to my desk.
