What do you say to your girlfriend for 4 years when she up and out of nowhere tells you she wants to move to new york?

sure you can tell her that you dont want to move...
because your life is on the west coast...

but when she shows no sign of caring what your family and friends are on the west, how do you handle that?

"well jeez.. if you just dont care, forget it then. it's over."
like that?

the moment you say "fine, lets move"
she says... "you wont move. i know you. you're too comfortable here."
and she's bent on that.

doesn't that tell you that she doesn't want you to move too?
or expect you to?

oih...

sometimes i want to slap her in her face.

i say let her do what she wants and do the best thing.....BE HONEST!!! theres nothing worse then a bitchy g/f b/c of you lieing!

i personaly wouldnt know what to say without finishing a full sentence with no screw ups but i dunno.......thats a really tough question man. if she wants to go to new york, then let her and she will soon relise that it was a mistake to go in the first place and MAYBE come back. if she doesnt then she obviously didnt really care about the feelings of you and your family.

this is just how i would look at it. may not be the best solution but its the best i could do. (ya i know, not very good)

seriously though, you should do what you would rather do more. if you would rather stay on the west coast then stay, if you would rather go with her then go with her. i know that's not much help but you should do what YOU WANT TO DO, not what she tells you to do. if it's true love then it will work either way you choose. i moved to where my girlfriend (now fiancee) is after i graduated college. i hate my job and the city is ok, but i am super-glad i'm with her. but i moved because i wanted to. you should do what you want to do.

It sounds like she wants to get away from you and is trying to hint on to it. Honestly, I think you already lost her. You might as well sever the ties ASAP.

If you KNOW that's not the case, ask why she seems to want to serperate. Present your "evidnece" for this thought and see how she explains it. If she just wants some time to be by herself, fine.

But still, moving and then saying she "knows" you won't go along sounds like she's trying to get away from you or trying to challenge you in some way. It's hard to explain but it sounds basically like she might have found someone else.
