Debate forum :}

I would reccomend a debate forum, so people could dicuss issues about anime or anything really and debate them. I think alot of the other dicussion groups are getting filled up with debate like materials which rage on forever ^_^

Hmmmm. Instead of "de-bate", wouldn't the forum be called "flame-bait" instead?

Seriously, though, I thought that's what the forums were all about: discussing and debating topic relating to the title of the forum. What exactly do you mean? What threads would go into a "debate" forum rather than the "regular" forum? What would happen to "regular" threads when they inadvertantly become a "debate" thread down the line? Can't you just put in the title something like "Debate: There should be a debate forum"?

I was probably drunk when suggesting that, even tho I don't have alcohol on hand.

I guess. Well Arstechnica for example has a Soap Box area where people can bring up topics and the IDEA, is to have in depth major discussions that don't involve people going and calling each other "poopyhead".

But you know you're probably right. I actually think over at Ars, it does de-evolve slowly into a flame-war.

Two topics I can think of that may have benefitted from a forum such as this would be the everlasting Anime Vs Cartoon affair. Also TommyRudes "DDR2 hate" posting.

The idea is to remove all the hate, and push it into a place where no one can see it and thus we'll all be happy
