My friend has a beef with the Sims Online because, supposedly, you have to pay a monthly fee to play online...is this true?

Leathel, not all MMOGs (LOLOL I CAN ABBREVIATE.) have a monthly rate.
But I find it INCREDIBLY FUCKING GAY when they do, and I just like to stay away from those games completely. (Everquest, to name one.)
Sure, Sims Online sounds better than Everquest, but with a monthly rate... eh...

Which MMOGs don't have a monthly rate?
I have no problem with paying a monthly rate for a good MMOG, since it invariably means new content patches every month.
I've played Asheron's Call for about a year and a half (left in April 2001) and am currently hoping to get into the next Beta phase for Star Wars Galaxies.

You are in a village and there are many buildings.
There are exits to the North and South.
Little Kid
>Look Little Kid
The Little Kid is Little.
>Kill Little Kid
>You attack Little Kid!
Little Kid crys, "Help! Help!"
>You kick Little Kid lightly
>Little Kid tries to punch you but misses.
>You kick little kid hard!
Little kid dies.
>Loot Corpse
You get a Yo-Yo from the corpse.
Yeah...it's like that. It's free, too, but I don't know why, I'd pay a monthly fee for this kind of fun.

Heh, in Fallout 2, if you kill the kids you get the Childkiller trait and bounty hunters come after you throughout the game. I think they took this out in the UK version, but there's a patch for that, I believe.
You can also torment one of the kids by ripping up his Mr. Nixon doll.
Good game, I hope 3 comes out sometime. Maybe a MMORPG set in the Fallout universe?
I'd pay for that!
