Re: Little things you hate?
I don't wanna aim it at you guys specifically, but I'm annoyed when something dangerous happens and everybody panics and is like "nothing is ever gonna be the same" and "I'm afraid to do ____ now". There's a certain risk that comes with life in general. It really does bug me that people will go about their life normally without a worry, but when something statistically improbable happens that changes their math completely even where it shouldn't. When in fact at any second of your life you could be killed by something you don't even expect, and there's not a damn thing you can do about that (tiny) risk.
This is somewhat American trait, by the way, less pronounced in more fatalistic cultures, be it British, Japanese or Russian. Americans lose their shit over any possibility of death interfering in the course of life, and as a self-professed fatalist that bugs me. Chill, guys.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

That's the saddest part: the dude had said on 4chan he was going to do it a couple days before the fact. It's not even the first time that some insane messages like that appear on 4chan either. It might be about time we should start to take that side of the internet more seriously. Pic related.Otohiko wrote:killed by something you don't even expect

Ok, I'm gonna fly a plane full of explosives into the London Olympics.mirkosp wrote:It might be about time we should start to take that side of the internet more seriously. Pic related.
...how do we do this calmly, tell apart trolls and coincidences, and all without censorship again?

I think the joker put it best in his conversation with Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight. I won't quote it because I'm waiting in line for the movie right now and don't have access. But yeah...

Underestimating a situation or under reacting is much worse in my opinion. Better safe than sorry. Just speaking on behalf of all the awfully cursed people.Otohiko wrote:I don't wanna aim it at you guys specifically, but I'm annoyed when something dangerous happens and everybody panics and is like "nothing is ever gonna be the same" and "I'm afraid to do ____ now". I hate my town. Seems like every redneck and hood rat is trying to start some sort of fight with me.
