iPad 2 and 3 owners
I've been hearing that Apple iPads have video editing programs and I'm wondering if any of you guys/girls out there have tried making an amv on the iPad. Let me know how it worked out for you please. I've been thinking about getting an iPad and this has been a big thinking factor in the buying process for me.

Um, I don't think you'd want to make an amv on the ipad.

It MIGHT be a fun little exercise in a "lets see what I can do" kind of sense, but from a practical standpoint, it's probably not worthwhile. Nevertheless, if you want to try it, I say go for it, but don't buy an iPad for this purpose only. Not a good idea. I love my iPad for things like reading comics, playing certain games, watching sports (the TV in my bedroom doesn't like the WatchESPN.com site, but it works flawlessly on the iPad), etc. So if you buy one for reasons like that and THEN decide to play around with editing, cool cool.

You CAN'T
It only edits video you recorded with its camera. You can't take an anime and put it on to iPad to edit. It won't let you.

As far as I can tell, at least with iMovie, you certainly CAN use outside footage, it just needs to be encoded/transcoded into a format that the device will recognize. So again, not the easiest or practical of tasks when you take into account you'll need some kind of desktop computer or laptop to prep the footage, at which point you might as well just edit on that machine.

Well sure. Doesn't really mean you can't edit.TEKnician wrote:x2Brad wrote:As far as I can tell, at least with iMovie, you certainly CAN use outside footage, it just needs to be encoded/transcoded into a format that the device will recognize.
