Thought crossed my mind a few days ago. Was wondering what peoples opinions/choices are for this question:

If you could assemble a team of anime characters to be the anime version of the avengers what characters would you choose?

I would say limit your team numbers between 5 and 10.

Syaoran (Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles) as "The Hero"
Sanji (One Piece) as "The Cook"
Straight Cougar (S-CRY-ED) as "The Playboy"
Shizuo (Durarara!!) as "The Tank"
Sakura (Naruto) as "The Healer"
Sakura (Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles) as "The Cleric"
Saito (Ghost in the Shell) as "The Sniper"

Syaoran is the coming-of-age captain of the Seven - The boy struggling to keep his cool and keep his group together. He and Sakura (the Tsubasa one) always console each other in dire times.
Sanji keeps everyones heads cool and their stomachs full. He sometimes slips into his narcissistic mode when he and Straight Cougar hang out. He has ways of calming situations down.
Straight Cougar loves the ladies and has a need for speed. He, Syaoran and Sanji all share the same love for kicks and muay thai-related martial arts (of which they spar with each other frequently).
Shizuo can NOT be stopped when he sets his target symbol on your ass. He will obliterate anything and anyone that tries to stop him...except for the Sakuras. His theory: kill the bad guys, that leaves us good guys. Believes Saito to be his rival.
Sakura (Naruto) is the healer of the group. She always rolls her eyes at everyones bickering and has no choice but to patch everyone up whenever they're not beating the crap out of each other. She's done some crap-beating herself, though.
Sakura (TRC) is the fragile family head and has never failed to dissolve any dispute. Just look into her eyes and tell me you don't want to cry. She and the other Sakura (having the same name and all) have naturally become friends and helpers to the group.
Saito is the quietest among the seven. Being a sniper, he naturally distances himself. Sakura (TRC) though chooses to hang out with him as she can speak the same silent language. Whenever Saito speaks, its important and to the point. Boom, done.
