This is getting reeeaaaallly interesting now.earthcurrent wrote:Here is the official posting from the cosplay forum:

OK here's the deal.
We run the site, we make the rules, and we enforce them. If you don't like the rules, fine, but the fact that you don't like them is not going to make us change them.
This is a site for cosplayers to hang out at. I will ALWAYS take the opinions of the cosplayers over the opinions of non-cosplayers (i.e. those who just sign up with a screen name and don't really talk about cosplay) when it comes to what level of tolerance the community as a whole wishes for the site. The sheer level of complaints I've received about a couple of the newer members is enough to make me do the following:
1. SpPanda, you are banned from this site for being a general nuisance, PM'ing members about it, not being open to compromise and ESPECIALLY for repeatedly harassing a certain moderator here to go see all of your videos on your site. I have had 32 member complaints via PM and email about your posts in the past 5 days, and frankly I'm sick of it. Good-bye.
2. We will close any thread we see fit. If you don't like it the fact that a thread was closed, PM me about it. Posting about it on the forums in an attempt to "rally support" or whatever is only going to make us think you're a pest. One post is "understandable". Multiple threads about the same thing is an "agenda".
3. This thread will remain open until tonight so that people can get all of their cheers and jeers out of their systems, after which I will be closing the thread (#43 for anyone who is counting) for good.
And that's that.

Or we could just combine all of our bandwidth to make a denial of service attack... gosh were vicious evil people...
This is hilarious... the AMV community attacking the cosplay community.. if only they knew who was attacking them... Im surprised they havent figure it out yet, and that nobody has posted a link to this thread on their board. Does anybody think that this kind of comunal aggression plays out into the cons at all? Is this something longer running than SpPandas difference with cosplay.com?
Are there really any of you out there with "l337 hax0r skillz"?

Actually, while this is amusing and all, this is starting to get rather petty. I think it is fine to giggle about the success of the first attack, but I don't really think it's necessary to continue plotting against the cosplay forums. If anything, SpPANDA's plotting backfired, as the cosplay forum seems to have become even more intolerant of spam, resulting in SpPANDA getting banned. And who knows, maybe his banning was also the result of someone telling the admins over at the cosplay forums about this thread. It is hard for me to imagine that there is not at least some amount of cross forum traffic.Ashton wrote:Or we could just combine all of our bandwidth to make a denial of service attack... gosh were vicious evil people...

It's hard to say, but to continue this serves no real purpose. If anything, it could lead to trouble on this forum, especially if the source of the disturbance is tracked back here. If anything, the draconic measures that seem to have come into place on the cosplayer forums will probably have greater long term negative effect on that forum community than anything further spam attacks could induce. Let them have their silly little forum, let peace reign upon the land.
