GRrrr.... *smacks self in head* well gosh, I think I figured out what was wrong. I played it in VDub and it was perfect... so I looked at it back in my usual player (which happens to be RealOne) and it was still messed. So I was about to post that here, and then I though (hey, lets try another player) so I whiped out The Player (the one that comes with DivX 5) and it works perfectly fine... Grrr... Thanx any Ed.

Two things.

1) Have you passed this file to a friend or somebody to watch it and see if the same thing happens to them?

2) What are your PC specs? If your PC is below a 600MHz I assume, then you'll got AV synch problems. I used to get synch problems all the time on my old 450MHz AMD K6-2, but it only happened with DivX/XviD files. RM and MPEG were fine.

Well, two friends have seen it, but neither had a problem. Of course, both used the same "The Player" player that I used succesfully. I dont know if that has anything to do with it though.
This is an 800 MHz processor. I think....

GOSH DARN IT, Ashton, I'm having the exact same problem.

I did that 2 pass encode that the guide says to do, and I got a very nice looking file. EXCEPT THAT THE AUDIO AND VIDEO GO OUT OF SYNC 20 SECONDS IN TO IT IF I PLAY IT IN WMP. If I play the video in The Playa, it works fine. It's great. But anywhere else it's crap. Well, I haven't tried playing it EVERYWHERE, but that's the wya it seems.

Does ANYONE have any clue how to fix this problem? I have the latest DivX codec, a fast computer, large hard drive, TONS of RAM...anyone have a clue?

Maybe you guys should try a different playback filter, like actual XviD binaries or ffdshow... Unless you already are, then this post would be pointless ^_^
