Hmmmm... Sonic Youth, New Order, or My Bloody Valentine for me. Too difficult to pick just one though.

My knowledge of Peter Gabriel is embarrassing. Embarassingly small.

Oh yeah, MBV was tops! I usually don't think bands should "re-unite", but i would step over my own mother to see them again.

Excellent! I love their songs too! (Heh, even made a video to one of their songs). Though I think US only had a very limited exposure to their albums. :(
I only know one of their songs. :\

"Give a little bit of heart and soul,
Give a little bit of love to grow,
Give a little bit of heart and soul,
Now don'tcha baby beg for more..."

or something like that. I always thought that song would make a good AMV.

the cure
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

Pretty Hate Machine (their first album) was released on November 9, 1989.

And the Down in It single was originally put out on vinyl in 1987.

Well, speaking of best things to start in the 70's and carry over to the 80's. RIP Joe Strummer.
