As for ranting... I'm planning on doing a special livestream of my picks for VCAs regardless of what actually made it in. Not sure when, probably mid week next week. I'll do my rant then.

There are always surprises. But a lot of surprises will also come in the results, I can quarantee that

I'm surprised several videos didn't make it to this point. I was expecting surprises in Dance Category, nor to mention my dissapoint about several editors that didn't join this time. Rdc would have probably done great things this year since he's a rookie

My guess on Dead Moon Masquerade is that its pretty hard to categorize it that it was probably getting votes/nominations across the different categories it was in but the votes weren't getting consolidated enough in any specific category to get it to pass through.

I was also surprised not to see Kitty & Galia not in the finals for Editor of the year, they've been pretty busy and have put out a lot of quality stuff.

I guess this would also be a good place to give shout outs to other AMVs/editors that missed the VCAs because they didn't upload here. I really wanted to nominate some stuff from Chiikaboom like:

In my mind, she would have been a solid contender for Editor of the Year too.

I personally think Shin is in too many categories =p
Even though your/his AMVs are good, well done.. to me its just the name that got in, and a lot of other good videos missed out cause of that.

Personally, I think all the videos are "deserving" of their placements (with the exception of Best First/Rookie fiasco and that thing with Pencilhead in best no effects). Name-associated nomination or not, Shin/Illeia definitely deserved their placements. I've never been able to fathom that successful editors having successful videos be nominated = bad thing.

Are there videos that I would have preferred be in some places? Naturally. I'm kind of sad that Selfless Regret didn't make it in anywhere, because I really thought it was a quality piece. But that's how the cookie crumbles I guess. But I am happy that Disney MEP II got in. (albeit, Empty Mosiac is still my main choice in this category).

Its not, but I think there is a difference when it comes to.

I think that Shin/Ileia both make lots of great videos and deserve to be recognized for that, or any other editor who makes great videos.

But I personally think that Viewer's Choice just goes a long with names people see, regardless of whether the editor is great or not. Whether there are other great videos in the category. It still does shadow it no matter, and that's my personal opinion. Which is why I like the JCA option. =3
