I agree with Lloyd, and thanks for the shoutout Reg. That amv is also available on the org for DL:
Even though I consider it one of my favorite amvs that I've made, I consider my School Rumble amv my most powerful romance amv to date. Here's my choices, I have MANY amvs for each category that I find on the same level but I'll just choose one per category.

I mean I know that people don't have to post if they don't want too but seriously, I was really curious what all the other editors thought should be an AMV that needs to be studied for future reference :P
well, personally, I don't wanna risk embarrassing myself by asserting that something i myself like is a definitive title for a genre.

that said, what the hell. i ctrl+f'd and jeff is nowhere on the page?

That DJ Soup video was great
Trial by drownding was excellant

others I'd already seen or not impressed... been meaning to go through my archives lately... maybe sometime soon I actually will ^.^

anyway I rather think the tried and true examples from the old guid are quite good to this day, but as someone also said. I'd totally go another way around this. Maybe I'll get into that later.

Lists so far have seemed just as 2010/2011-centric as Phade's list was 2000/2001 centric. Lets break that out a little more. I'm sticking with vidlinks because this would all be way too cumbersome with vidid. I don't have the time currently to expand this as far as I'd like (having to do a bunch of manual look-ups and all), so I'll drop my abridged list here and come back and touch it up later on.

Yeah if I broke out my archives I'd be going through every year since 1998 :| and many of them didn't even win vca's, so many great videos get overlooked the one year their eligable it's really not a good measure. Also each year tends to have more than a handfull of deserving candidates :/

I just wanted to find that sped up 'Fireflys' (Owl City) AMV... and I've detoured off on a project that could take many days to complete :x lol figures.

it would be awesome to have some kind of screening process for this and then a batch file made or split it up into genres or areas of expertise. you could include txts that include newly written theory guides that apply to the specific category.

did i mention we could do some theory guide updates along with the recommended viewing?

I'm not the one deciding this but that's a pretty good idea :P

That might be a really neat idea for future Lip Flappers. :) /steals

Also, apparently my post didn't go through on this (I thought I had already posted on this), so I'll re-write my list this afternoon.
