Just bought a WD TV Live Box. It plays pretty much everything I throw at it, but Western Digital advertised it as having support for .ssa and .ass subtitles in mkv. They must be using a weird definition of the word "support" though, as it does nothing of the sort. It uses the text and time code out of the stream and ignores all the meta-data about placement, color, font, simultaneous dialog, etc. Y'know, all that stuff that defines the format as anything different than .srt in the first place. That's like claiming your cell network that lacks data plans or coverage supports smartphones. Completely dishonest. I checked out their support forums and people have been pointing this blatant falsehood out to them since 2009 and all official comments seem to ignore it. They even have an idea forum where it's brought up in threads repeatedly over the years along with other tangential issues (like how they used to display comment tags used in subtitle files as on-screen subs) and the WD development folks they have giving official feedback in the forums will address the other points and then skip entirely over the complaint about actually supporting the stuff they claim to support.

Sick :/ been fighting it all week, and last week. Just get some major headaches that make me really naseated. Mostly just from stress though :/

There are many times in which I wish that I didn't have to deal with some of my clients. They are VERY grumpy in the mornings.

I waited two hours and tried again. I beat the final boss and then it crashed during the ending. Seriously, WTF..
