Pretty much the same with 1 and 2. 3 definitely. :/ Happens everytime.SailorDeath wrote: 1. I get annoyed with the tediousness of some effects so I tend to rush them and do a half assed job

Comedy is and isn't one of the hardest categories to do depending on the person. The more generic your humor, the more people you can "get" with your jokes, which is hard for people with a unique sense of humor. At the same time, you don't have to do a good job polishing a comedy video if it's funny, so the video can be "cheap and easy" to make.SailorDeath wrote:- I can't edit for other genres well. Which is why I don't usually make action, drama or romance. (though some tell me editing comedy is harder than those)

Those videos are usually pretty terrible and rely on the audio rather then actual creativity and editing skill.l33tmeatwad wrote:Comedy is and isn't one of the hardest categories to do depending on the person. I've never made a comedy vid, but I'll try just to see how complex can it bel33tmeatwad wrote:Comedy is and isn't one of the hardest categories to do depending on the person. AMV Hell wasn't the best quality (some limitations to source material) and they didn't use massive effects or anything fancy, but the concepts and execution were brilliant.Pwolf wrote:Those videos are usually pretty terrible and rely on the audio rather then actual creativity and editing skill.l33tmeatwad wrote:Comedy is and isn't one of the hardest categories to do depending on the person. Re: AMV flaws you want to admit
Other then the fact that AMV Hell (all of them) are awful, that has nothing to do with what you said earlier. Comedy videos can be funny, it doesn't make them good or well edited. And sorry if I offend anyone but if all you do is take a funny song and slap some lip sync on it and a few filler scenes, that doesn't make a good video. It will make an audience laugh and love you for it, but it doesn't mean it's good.l33tmeatwad wrote:AMV Hell wasn't the best quality (some limitations to source material) and they didn't use massive effects or anything fancy, but the concepts and execution were brilliant.Pwolf wrote:Those videos are usually pretty terrible and rely on the audio rather then actual creativity and editing skill.l33tmeatwad wrote:Comedy is and isn't one of the hardest categories to do depending on the person. This is very true, but I was just pointing out that it doesn't have to be edited well if the concept is strong enough, not that the concept doesn't have to be good.Pwolf wrote:And sorry if I offend anyone but if all you do is take a funny song and slap some lip sync on it and a few filler scenes, that doesn't make a good video. If I wanna watch see anime characters lip syncing to Family Guy audio, I'll just watch Family Guy.Pwolf wrote:

I can't make a straight up comedy video. I need to combine it with another genre like action.
There still needs to be good enough editing to accompany the concept.l33tmeatwad wrote:This is very true, but I was just pointing out that it doesn't have to be edited well if the concept is strong enough, not that the concept doesn't have to be good.
