Edit: I guess that I'm free to upload my videos now :awesome:

That's right, time for those of you who made videos that didn't make it into the finals to spill the beans.

Mine was called "That Magnificent Bastard" and was the tribute to godix video set to I'm the Urban Spaceman and Soul Eater.
my first one was the "Anime in the Library" video that used Clannad, Haruhi, and The World God Only Knows set "Library" by Barney the Donosaur.

my second one was "Atmosphere" that used Noein set to "Control" by MuteMath. I actually finished this one abut 20 minutes before the deadline :asd:

Congratulations to the finalists!

Only one category where I voted for 3:3 (Derpy Hooves), but there was also only one where I voted for none of the finalists.

The Panda was ours. We made it in two days so we could see how this contest worked, so I count it as a success. I apologize for the terrible quality of the conversion , it's been fixed since.

I was really thrown off by the plural pronoun, and conclude that you are psychic.

Not sure anyone should be disclosing their videos yet. But i won't be doing it soon anyway because my video actually made the finals. 8-) (only took three years of trying, well two for pro first year submitted to expo)

Anyway, i think its an interesting mix of finalists, a bit disappointing though. I ended up not voting for 2 categories and actually voted against the other two videos in 1 other category.

And now for the long wait to discover the winners (i unfortunately will not be attending this year)

I honestly don't see how this list of finalist is that disappointing at all, the only thing that surprised me was the choices for best overall video as those were a rather random assembly of videos. As for voting, there was only 3 categories that I didn't know right off who I wanted to vote for, lol...

I think you have an extra negation in there.

This was one of my favourites. :awesome:

I was a little stuck for some of the categories[mainly comedy and romance] because they both had 2 I had nominated and I really wanted both to win. And drama was just difficult because none of my nominations made it in.

Btw my video was the one with the girl eating the book and another girl committing suicide set to "Perfect Day" LOL. I wasn't really synching to the lyrics but more to the mood of the song except I don't think anyone really understood the story I was trying to portray. :uhoh:

Congratulations to everyone that made the finals!

I won't say I'm not disappointed to not make it in the finals, but from the general feedback my video was receiving, I figured it was a long shot. AWA Pro is still one of my favourite competitions to enter, if only because I get to see a group of really solid videos I'll be up against, and for the unbiased critical feedback. The feedback alone makes it worth entering, in my mind, so thank you to everyone that posted comments.

Especially Todd, your feedback was the best <3

Good luck to the finalists, and I'm anxious to see the final results at the con!

Well, I'm not too surprised that i didn't make it. My video was #39, the "Love Will Find a Way" video. I knew it was ridiculously slow, but the restrictive nature of FF8 footage [and how little of it there is...] kind of killed that for me. But it was something that a IRL friend specifically requested, so I delivered, and it was the Pro deadline, so yeah. XD

And major congrats to the finalists! You all are fantastic and it was really hard decisions to make all around!

I'm a bit disappointed I didn't make it into the finals, but not exactly surprised. I had #4 the Rainbow Dash vid, and #49 the eye melting one.

For Betrayl, it was originally my IC from earlier this year. I did some extra work on it, tightened up the editing, finished the story I was trying to tell, and added the eye melting flashes. Seems most were not happy with the look I was trying to go for, essentially an older film flash look. Oh well...

As for RD, really, that vid is rather incomplete. I've made many changes to it since and I'm still working on it. The feedback I've gotten on it has been invaluable and quite interestingly in contrast to much of the feedback I've gotten from my beta testers. I would have been surprised to win anything with an incomplete video like that, though still sad it didn't make it into the final voting.
