I get on this site about once a week now, which is not as often as I did back when I was really into AMV's. But for the most part this site always had excellent order and intelligent people running it. As I was randomly browsing through the vca section I noticed something odd, that I'm surprised I didn't notice a year ago before. All the categories in the 2011 VCA's have been changed to vague terms for the same thing it was in years past. For a second I thought the org actually added a section for the JCA's, but no those are the actual names for every award given. Editors 5 years from now are going to look back in the 2006 category of VCA's and notice tyler's award for Jihaku in best "dramatic video" category, while when they roll over to 2011 you get Ileia who will be remembered for getting "The fate of destruction" for her RAH HEY video. And some of these make sense like "dance like you want to win" obviously best dance, but then you get something like "The Gendo Ikari award"? who the fuck is Gendo Ikari? What if I haven't seen Eva? or better yet, how the fuck does Gendo Ikari pertain to Editor of the year? I understand people on this website like to have fun, and I always enjoy the april fools day events on the org, but I consider the VCA's to be a serious part of the org and it hurts me to see it get treated like this.

People have already bitched about it. It was a one time thing, they're not leaving the names like that next time. If you mouse over the horrible nerdcore names it'll show you the actual award time and stuff.
