Well, to be fair, about 2/3 1/2 (Edit: Yes, I actually went through and counted, it's exactly half. >_>) of what is in the contest this year is already online, haha, I don't think one more would hurt.

Well, the Oscars aren't exactly blind either. I really don't worry about it, some people just prefer it.

Then it's not really a reason for his video to not be able to compete, that's all I'm saying. :P

So the judging and submissions must be blind according to your rules...but you don't really care and say you don't worry about it but prefer it...

Wait, what?

It's one or the other. I've never entered Pro because I've never had a video that I could send it to be a blind entry by the deadline. So you're saying that for now on...I ignore the rules and just say "in a perfect world, it'd be totally blind judging and such." And then go about my merry business?

RED MEANS STOP. But it's ok, we just prefer you stop, I guess you can go.

It wouldn't have been a problem if...
1. You'd registered with the upload site
2. You'd registered this video and added it to the Pro contest before the deadline
3. Let us know at videoart@awa-con.com

Alas, I didn't see this topic in time, and you've already released the video which breaks the blind.

Good work though, and feel free to enter it in one of our other contests!
Haha yeah, it's all good. I know you guys are fairly flexible about the cut-offs (2 of the last 3 years I entered I actually sent in my videos about 24-48 hours after the deadline due to re-rendering, etc, issues).

But in this case I hadn't even done the forms and stuff so I called it a loss and left it as is. I'm thinking I might shoot it through to Expo.

Incorrect. Per the rules (emphasis added):
AWA Web Site wrote:Identification: Submissions to this contest must be free of any creator identification, including but not limited to studio bumpers or credit rolls. We strongly suggest the standard two seconds of black before and after your submission and nothing more. We also ask that participants make a reasonable effort to keep their identity as the editor of a specific entry a secret, and suggest (though not require) that they submit new works and refrain from distribution until after the awards show.
You may review the complete rules here: http://www.awa-con.com/index.php?page=a ... ng_version
