MSG - Pretty good series, good story (albeit the televised version lags occasionaly, that's one of the perks of the movie trilogy), my only grievance is with the dated soundtrack (some parts are good, but watching Amuro and Char duel to music that sounds like Scooy-Doo is just...gah!)
0080 - This is definitely one of my favorites, while there aren't many mecha designs, the story manages to get by just fine without them.
0083 - Kind of a draw on this one...the soundtrack, mecha, and action scenes were good, although honestly the story and much of the cast seemed to be severely lacking (the story had promise in the beginning, but around the time that Burning died things just dissolved into an action-fest)
08th MS Team - Not bad, not bad at all, outside of a few minor personal irks, a moderately well done series
Zeta - Right now this stands as my personal fave from what I've gotten to see, interesting cast, the story has proven compelling, and some of the mecha are pretty good (although some of them just look like crap)
ZZ - Have yet to see
Char's Counterattack - Another definite favorite, while a bit rushed, an all-together great way to close of the AmurovsChar rivalry and the FederationvsZeon war
F-91 - Ok, although rushed considerably (makes sense considering the production staff were originally working under the impression this would be a series...when that didn't work out they re-edited to a movie length) only other grievance is the Crossbone Vanguard's resemblance to the Empire from Star Wars (was wondering how soon till Korozo would choke one of his lackeys to death)
V - Have yet to see, been meaning to
G Gundam - Underrated, while it's certainly not the best series, it definitely doesn't deserve the demonization it gets from some fans. Definitely one of the most inventive Gundam series.
Gundam Wing - In three words, Universal Century lite...the resemblances make the story quite irritating since it's been told before, and the cast, which could have been fleshed out that much more, were instead used as eye-candy. Overall: Not horrendous, but nothing special.
Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz - Makes some improvements, the Gundams this time can actually take damage, and there's actually attempts to give the characters depth. Not bad, definitely better than it's original series.
Gundam X - Only seen the first 8 so far, but it's showing promise to be a good series.
Turn-A - Have yet to see
Gundam SEED - Kind of early to make a determination, but still off to an OK start, decent mecha, great soundtrack. I only have two grievances
The Pink Haro - OK, the MSG retelling I can deal with, the Char double, ok...the Haro is just...why?!
Also, someone REALLY needs to have a word with the character designers for this one...not really a good sign when two of the male ZAFT pilots wind up looking more effeminate than the one femal pilot (who when she first appeared looked like a guy)
Just my $0.02
Favorite: Three way tie between Z, 0080, and CCA
whats the best gundam series?

That's still better than no emotion at all.
I've seen very little of the Gundam universe(s), but the only one that I considered good was 8th MS Team. The only one that I considered genuinely bad was G-Gundam, it was like Pokemon with mobile suits.
