I am probably the only one that had the tech side completely down before I started editing...lol. The only reason for this was me making digital copies of my DVDs for my portable devices and always learning new stuff so the quality was the best I could attain.

- Whenever I'm in the process of editing, I usually have a really bipolar take on my current project. Sometimes I'll watch the WIP and be like "Yea, it's awesome so far! " but then the next day I'll feel more like "ugh, this is TERRIBLE! What am I even doing?! Maybe I should forget about it and start something else..."

- All of the good effects I can do in After Effects stem from my knowledge of Photoshop. Actually trying to do everything in AE is something that I just can't do (yet?) It's like, "what are all these knobs and buttons!? WHAT DO!?"

- I used to be hopeless at encoding until I discovered ZarxGUI. (So basically, I'm still hopeless but now I have a program to help me! :awesome: )

- Since the devilry that is AE CS5 came about, I get seriously tempted to just use the Rotoscope Brush for scenes where I want to do a "quick and dirty" mask. I know it'll hold up to casual viewing, but closer inspection would reveal... sloppiness :uhoh: (While on the subject of masking, I much prefer to use Adobe because I can't maneuver around and zoom with keyboard shortcuts in Vegas.)

I have this same issue. Despite reading the guides multiple times, I just really don't "see" the stuff that isn't super obvious. Literally, the only thing I really know how to do is deinterlace and sharpen. So I usually hope the beta testers can see it and let me know. ;___;

I don't really use avs scripts or whatever to clean up footage. I try to maintain the original quality and I've only color corrected for masking.

I've decided to just let people bitch. :awesome:

Also, I still edit on a G5 mac ... use AE 7.0

This is why I haven't really released anything yet and why I prefer to do GMVs, since there isn't really any cleaning to do (at least not with the games I've used so far).

- I'm really bad at keeping interest in a video that I can't finish fairly quickly. I'll work on a video and then stop because I got this great idea and start working on that, then move on to the next... ect... In the end I wind up with tons of un-finished projects that I may wind up going back to and finishing in the future. Generally, the number of videos I come out with in a years worth of time all depends on which ones I can finish before my muse re-directs me to a new idea...

- My editing style has what I like to do with footage, basically heavy beat/internal sync, kills many projects for me. I'll hear a song I really want to make a video to but when I sit down to work on it I have to give up because I have a hard time loosening up my sync style. Probably this is one reason why I rarely come out with a fast paced video or use a song with lots of elements in it, because I inately want to have something happen on each note/beat/word/ect... That's partially why I was as proud of Admiration, because I was able to push through that OCD like urge to sync on EVERYTHING!

- I get distracted very easily, more so now then ever. I have a great urge to edit, but I often have a hard time staying seated at my PC to work of a video because any little thing easily pulls me away. I find this partially due to having to work with computers all day long, I just don't want to sit at my PC when I get home and would rather rest on the couch and watch TV/movies or play video games. Then when I do sit at my PC I wind up getting distracted with other things like chat or what not. MLP videos/music on youtube is a great distraction lately...

I feel beats/syncopation that no one picks up on and therefore people tell me that "my sync is off". I enjoy videos of other peoples who do this, even if it's unintentional.

I have no patience for effects, which is why most of the time my effects look bad :P

I'd really like to do upbeat videos but the first thing always kills it for me.

I ignore most crit after I finish a video, because I'm not going to go back and fix it. (I soak it up during the beta process though, unless its about my horrid deinterlacing :P lol)

I do sentimental/cute/romance/drama really well, but fail at action/comedy (at least I think so). But I'd really love to do a sparkly dance video O.O

I can't deinterlace worth shit, and I've gotten to the point where I don't care if it's blended/jaggedy anymore :P.

I have my husband check my audio cuts.

I very rarely make a video that I have a personal connection to (or one that has more of a meaning to me aside from "I'm a fan of this anime and this song"), however those are usually my least popular videos anyway.

Right when I'm done with filling a video timeline I'm usually thinking "this is pretty awesome!" then I send a beta out and then I realize how horrible it is, then I don't want to edit anymore.

I have several old ideas but none I really want to see done.

I haven't watched any new anime lately, I've only been catching up on old ones, and watching star trek, and trying to figure out how to make costumes in little big planet.

I also prefer the lasso over the pen tool.

- I waste a lot of time because I'll obsessively watch and re-watch parts of my AMV midway through editing. :|

- Sometimes I spend more time trying to optimize my workflow than actually editing.

- I suck at stylizing things, so I just leave everything unaltered.
