Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Disintegration (Anime Mix AMV)

Post by nyunyuelf » Sun May 22, 2011 3:43 pm

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aE1uCEMERFk

I don't know how to embed, since I'm not good with html, and Youtube's code won't work on this site (unless there's something else I need to know)

made with clips from To Aru Kagaku no Railgun, To Aru Majutsu no Index, and various Shakugan no Shana OP/ED...enjoy!!!

song: Disintegration
artist: Lia

also is there a basic upload link that I can use with AMVs? I heard this site had one, but I can't find it.

and here's the catalog entry

for future reference, you can do that by putting the video id (the last part of the url of your video's information page) into vidid tags like so

Code: Select all

[vidid]182049[/vidid]
Youtube videos can't be embedded here. Donators can get the code needed to embed videos, uploaded to our site, on the forums...but that still would mean you gotta jump through the upload system here.

You don't have to upload here, but if you choose to you can start the process by clicking here (or go to editors -> upload video in the menu on your members main page).
If you've never uploaded through FTP before, you might find my guide to be of some assistance

I see that you already have it cataloged in our system. From there, it's actually very simple.

Under your editors category on your members's main page, click "upload a video". Pick the video you want to upload and you'll get an FTP address, username and password. Using a program like Filezilla, you can then upload your video. Once it's finished uploading, you'll have to confirm the upload on your main page. Then, after a while, the video will have a "local" download option available. Hope that helps!

EDIT: Whoops, Kariudo already touched on that subject. XD

As for the video:

I felt like there wasn't much connection between the audio and video. Some scenes seemed very random and looked out of place. But it had some good moments too. After the first fourth of the video or so, it really had a nice flow to it, but still had a few hiccups here and there. Overall, it was ok, but can be vastly improved upon. Work towards matching the flow of the music with the cuts you make in the editing at all times.

@Kariudo Thanks^^ first time poster, so I appreciate the guidance.
@CodeZTM I appreciate the criticism; at least you're nice about it, and don't go, "Man, this AMV sucks!" I will definitely try to devote more time to fixing the issues with synchronizing. I've been using Windows Movie Maker and AVS Video Editor. Is there a better one out there, but simple enough for beginners?

I've heard that Sony Vegas is a great one to start off with, but I personally use Adobe Premier Pro. You can't go wrong with either, and they're both easy enough to learn. You just have to devote the time to learning how to use the software properly.

Thanks for the info..yeah, I tried Sony Vegas, and maybe I'm an idiot, but I couldn't get it to work for me the way I needed/wanted it to..And I think, unfortunately, Adobe Premier Pro is for Windows 7 (I'm still running XP), but I do appreciate the advice ^^

Actually, Premier Pro older versions are very much compatible with Windows XP. I used 1.5 for SEVERAL years, and it was a fantastic software.
