Hmm...I can't seem to put them into a top ten:

One flew over the cuckoo's nest. (deep)
Shawshank Redemption. (How can you not love this film)
Forest Gump. (I justcry when Bubba dies)
Lock Stock (just love it)
American Beauty (thought-provoking)
A Few Good Men (You want the truth?)
Die Hard (1&2)
Godfather

I can't think! I can't name a no. 1, or loads more films I love...

2-10. Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Matrix, various disney, etc.

y2kwizard- I think my list quite plainly shows my favorite (and possibly only actor that impresses me at all) is Tom Hanks. I love that documentary style movie making too. You're completely right about why it was great. I liked Castaway a lot too, but not not enough for my list there. It was hard to make by the way ^_~

flint- I understand why so many people didn't like Titanic, but I have too much respect for James Cameron and none at all at the same time. He seems to get it all right and then sell out in some ways, but I think it was great despite what so many people say about it. I love good cg.

10.) The Matrix (Good, but overplayed)
9.) Dogma (Pretty funny)
8.) Dark City (Very Well done)
7.) Brazil (You gotta see it to understand)
6.) Die Hard (and almost ANY Bruce movie)
5.) Kung Pow (I almost DIED laughing)
4.) 2001: Space Odessy (Just Brilliant!)
3.) ClockWork Orange (Brilliant Fun!)
2.) Full Metal Jacket (YOU MAGGOT!)
1.) Aliens (Just plain cool and you know it!)

There's a TON more movies I love and a TON I still wish to see. Was The City of Lost Children any good? I've thought about renting it several times...
Oh, and try to watch Rejected. It's hilarious!

Yeah, Tom Hanks is most certainly one of my fave actors. I also like Robin Williams, who seems to be one of the best actors ever. I say this because he's done the WEIRDEST roles I've ever seen. Let's see...he's had weird roles in Hook, Jumanji, Bicentennial Man, Jack, Death to Smoochy...and tons of others. He also seems to have a very quick sense of humor.

Of course, for humor, you can't beat Cary Grant

He simply rocks the world. Two of his that I can think of off hte top of my head are Bringing up Baby and Arsenic and Old Lace. VERY funny.

I like other old school, blackandwhite actors of days before....lessee...some movies from that era..hmm..how about Christmas in Connecticuit...uhm...can't think of any off the top of my head, darn it. I like "I love Lucy"...one of the greatest TV shows ever....

As long as we're on TV shows...I must say that the best TV show that has ever been created or ever WILL be created is Star Trek: The Next Generation. I'm not really a Trekkie, I don't know tons about hte Trek world. I do know that it's a great TV show. It goes SO MANY places. It's got cool sci-tech stuff, it's got an android's search for meaning, love, emotions (which can lead to some interesting conversations), it's got love interests, it's got determination of hte human spirit....it has EVERYTHING. It's funny, sad, happy, sexy, everything ANYONE could want in a TV show.
