So I have these nice-quality episodes of a show all on my computer for AMV purposes and such. Thing is, the show is is 4:3 and the episodes themselves are in 16:9, making the footage look slightly stretched (I did not change the aspect ratio of the footage, it is literally stretched as 16:9).
So I guess I want to make the footage 4:3, but the problem is that every time I place the episode in Vegas, set the properties to the normal 4:3 setting and fiddle around with the aspect ratio of the episode, when its in 4:3 a huge chunk of the footage from each side of the shots is taken to make it 4:3.
I'd rather like to keep all of my footage in the same shot rather than make it 4:3 and only focus on a specific part in the middle in the shot.
Here's what I've done:
Properties set to 4:3 AR.

Clip inputted (in original 16:9 form).

4:3 option selected for clip.

Lots of area cut from clip, only focused in the middle. :[
