A-Kon 22: Call for Film Submissions

Call For Short Film Submissions



A-Kon®, the oldest continually running, anime-based convention in North America, is looking for short films to showcase online as well as on the official A-Kon TV. A-Kon TV runs 24 hours a day during the entire convention and is seen by THOUSANDS of attendees throughout the weekend!

This year A-Kon’s convention theme is Space Opera (Outlaw Star, Robotech, Cowboy Bebop etc.). Two factions— Gamers and Anime Otaku— will be waging a war against the other throughout the weekend.

This is where YOU come in!


A-Kon is looking for short films that fit one or more of the following themes:

* Space Opera
* Gamers vs. Anime Fans (Otaku)
* Propaganda-esque commercials/shorts for either gaming or anime.


Films should be no longer than 10 minutes in length
All submissions should abide by a PG-13 rating
Last Day for submissions is MAY 10th
