I am new to submitting videos for ACen and was wondering if where you'd like us to upload the videos after submitting...it says you need to have FTP but doesn't say where to, I assume we will get a server login or something??

I'm quoting for all since there have been a lot of questions lately related to the FTP process. It should be noted that the entry system will also show your FTP info as well once your account has been created and approved.

The FTP Process
---------------------------------
1. Enter your video information in the system
2. Go to the Entry Status Page and Click "Submit FTP Request"
3. Wait up to 3 days for an email containing your FTP account information
4. Upload your video
5. Return to the Entry Status Page and click "Close FTP Account"
6. Wait for further contact from the administration (if there is a problem) or check the status page for updates, such as your video being accepted.
7. Repeat steps 1-6 for each video you wish to send


What to do if you don't get an email within 3 days of sending your FTP Request

1. Check your spam boxes and filter settings to see if the message was marked as spam
2. Verify that the email you provided the system is correct and still accurate
3. Go to the Entry Status Page and see if FTP info is listed for your video, if it is then simply use it
4. If you still don't see info then close your account and then open a new one (click close account, then click open account)
5. Wait another 3 days for info
6. If no info is sent to you or you don't see it listed in the entry status at this point, finally send an email to: acen [AT] ngsilver [DOT] com or submit an administration error request in the system.

I generally am able to approve accounts within a day. However due to my work schedule I can really only do so in the evenings when I am not at work or school. I may, depending on the frequency or volume, approve accounts up to 5 times a day, however that is only within the span of about 6 hours between when I get home and when I go to sleep. As the deadline draws near I will be making sure accounts are created in as timely a manner as possible.

Finally, those of you waiting until the last min to submit your entry please also keep in mind that new entries and FTP requests will only be accepted until 11:59PM EDT on the deadline date. You will be given a grace period of the rest of the weekend to get your entries uploaded. Be mindful that the FTP server may be busy leading up to and after the deadline so do try to get your entry in early!

Just a quick note for those of you trying to submit via FTP today. The FTP server may be down for a few hours today while the network is being upgraded at my data center (read server room in my house) which after completion should allow for more bandwidth available for uploads (read faster speeds for FTP transfers.) This is suppose to happen between 1PM and 3PM EDT today, but server may be down any time before or after.

I will post another reminder once I verify that the network is down and again once I verify that the network is back up. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I apologize for the long wait. The technician who installed the new network (read cable modem) decided to take matters into his own hands with me away from the house and turn the modem into it's own router. I've been fighting with tech support ever since but finally got it all fixed up so now my in-house network properly maps my servers to the internet. So, the FTP server is back up and running now.

The practical upshot of all of this work however, is faster internet for me, and hopefully faster and more concurrent FTP connections for you.

Requested FTP access and just waiting for the info now to upload. I'm trying to see if I can plan a trip to go to ACEN this year, hopefully I can get things to work out cause it'd be awesome to go.
