Fantastic, I've never had a lucid dream before so I needed to know what it was like. If this is true that you can't control your dreams, that's substantial evidence in favor of my argument. :)

It can of course go the other way, of which I will address in my paper.

Though when I do open my eyes (more like squinting, actually), I usually see some other place I slept before. These dreams really do seem real, which sucks since when I actually wake up I gotta look around to see where I really am.
I experienced that as well, it was like I was sleeping in my dream, and I tried to open my eyes, but I couldn't, or if I could it was very hard, and I went back to sleep. But I'm not even sure if that was a dream or reality.
And sometimes I had the same dream a long while ago, that was strange.
Btw, I had a dream recently, which was bad, and in my dream I thought "I hope this is just a dream" and then I woke up I think lol
My dreams are like reality when I'm dreaming them.

If dreamers dreaming and reality being lived are the same, then does this not present the possibility that we are always dreaming, not aware that we are dreaming?

So you mean, that I might be dreaming that I'm posting this comment?

I've actually had ones where I could control other people and the world around me. For instance, there have been ones where I was being attacked by some one or they were using some kind of mind control on me, and I would be sitting there thinking there was no way I was going to get out of it, then I would be like 'Hey! This is MY dream!', and so I would reverse the situation and continue, this time with the roles switched, or me manipulating their mind and actions. Other times, I'm manipulating the world around me. Such as "moving" my house to a different location to get it out of the way of a mech battle, getting rid of power lines that I kept flying into, "inserting" a barbed wire fence to help slow down the zombies so the towns people could escape, etc. Of course, there have been instance in some of those where I was trying like hell to control the dream, but whatever I was up against was too powerful. That was scary. >_<

Although, thinking about it, the mental state of the subject might also need to be taken into consideration. The average person most likely has most of their brain functions rooted within "reality", as opposed to someone with a mental illness who may have a skewed sense of physical reality anyway. And so their brain may have an easier time processing and functioning in a dream state, since their thought process wasn't completely in what most would consider reality anyway. And so being able to completely manipulate their dreams is easier for them than most people. Idk, just a thought. :P

Ok, on my previous post of the mental state of the dreamer possibly affecting ability to fully control dreams, I just talked to another schizophrenic who is able to fully control their dreams.
