We are one people. If we unite we can move forward and get past this childish nonsense.

Well, here we go again...
Honestly, what I'm sick about is the constant complaint about the results and the VCAs... Are there any contest people don't complain about the results? Yea, I may not agree with all of the results myself, but the contest is what it is, and that being contest for animemusicvideos.org members. People say it's a popularity contest and it's even been said it's influenced by the various national groups . yes indeed it can be, however that's the same thing for any contest out there that has the general "Membership" voting.
What so ironic is the JCAs where created more of like a "protest" against popularity vote of the VCAs. Kind of ironic that now people don't seem to agree with those results as well. wow.
The real funny thing is that some of the people who complain run contests that have audience voting too...

Heh. I remember that. I think I still have some of those posters sitting around my HD actually.JudgeHolden wrote:Pfft ... the JCAs lost their luster after the first one. Nothing will ever live up to the war of posters between me and godix.

I do agree that JCA/VCA is org sponsored and thus will naturally end up being org-centered in the videos that get chosen and won. The biggest hussy fit was that Versus lost out to AMV Hell 5. Which, naturally, was sad. But it's not the org's fault that it happened. The viewers apparently liked it better. I [and several others around here] certainly didn't vote for it. It's not just the forum community that votes here. Out-of-forum users vote too.
I think the biggest complain is that the French/Russian editors don't get enough attention around here.
That being said, that NEVER happens completely unless editors just refuse to upload/announce/catalog their videos here. coLOLor was one of my favorite videos of the year, and I didn't know it existed until a few weeks back when it got nominated by Kosmit in the JCAs. It didn't even have a org catalog entry. Viewers/judges cannot be expected to wade through the thousands of videos that aren't even listed on a-m-v.org. That's what the announcement forum is for! Its for us to collect [over the span of the year] the best videos that were released. Heck, to even be considered in the contest, they have to have a catlog entry and check the box in the username field.
Do I think that France/Russia need representatives in the JCAs? Of course! LIke I said, there were ton of great videos that we wouldn't have ever seen otherwise. Do I want them to completely take over and have an international contest turn into the JCAs? No. I just want some people from different communities to share with us their best works that we wouldn't have seen otherwise.
THAT should be the purpose of the JCA/VCA contests. To share the best of the best. One completely org centered and one completely judge centered.

Just go to any amv contest and ask how many people actually know of the .org.
There's the proof that the amv community exists outside the org right there.
