Re: Major Earth Quake Tsunami in Japan
If the reactors continue to stay hot and build pressure the fuel rod casings can balloon and burst exposing the radioactive core which could release intensely radioactive material. I just heard that a defense ministry official in Japan said that they have dispatched dozens of troops trained for chemical disasters in that area in case of a radiation leak along with four vehicles designed for use in atomic, biological, and chemical warfare. And the death toll has been confirmed at 500 and still rising. This has got to be some of the worst series of events in history, it's like a horror movie. And Japan is our trade partner, the damage from the radiation could come to the USA if the situation isn't handled well. Including raising up the prices we get from Japan like TVs, cameras, radios, cell phones, computer parts, video game systems and more. God this is fucked up news. I wish I could help the ones in need and help with the meltdown situation in some way...

I don't think I know you but I know you're an idiot. Please shut the fuck up and stop posting these sort of worst-case scenarios before you spread unnecessary fear and misinformation. Things aren't nearly that bad, at least as far as Fukushima Dai-1 and -2 are concerned. Nobody on Japanese TV is discussing a meltdown, the 20km evacuation zone is only a precaution... there may be rolling brown-outs starting on Monday, though. Trains in the Tokyo area are mostly back up and running through maybe not on time.Jwalk0 wrote:PANIC PANIC PANIC
As far as I'm concerned, I am safe and sound in Tokyo. It was a rough Friday night but I did make it home as Corran mentioned and I have internet, gas, water, power, food, porn, videogames, and Ambien (the latter of which is the only easy way to sleep through all of the aftershocks).
However those in Miyagi, Iwate, etc are not as lucky. It's really bad. Whatever you're seeing on American TV or YT, know that it's worse. Absolutely horrific. This will affect Japan for a long time, and the region alone may take years if not decades to recover.
If you can hold off on buying that new videogame or DVD you were planning on picking up this week, please please please donate to the Red Cross.

I know that it's worse in those parts and I've already donated. Blessed to hear that you're doing alright and hope the best for you and everyone around you.dokool wrote:I don't think I know you but I know you're an idiot. That's how people are :/Mr. Moonbeam wrote:I can't believe people.
If it was them they wouldn't be saying this, in fact they would want people to donate and help out too.
People are selfish in this world, and don't stop and think about how they would feel if it was them. Just think about all the families that are lost, or missing. And how Japan's people must be feeling.
I also heard that there was many canadians and americans over there too. So while all those people "hate", they forget at the same time that "their" people are over there too.
My boyfriend has relatives who live there in the Tokyo area, and heard that they are doing okay so I'm happy :3 will also donate! I think its important that we all help each other out.
