This thread is for two Cowboy Bebop vids, one an action vid and one a serious character profile.
Spike's Vendetta is a pretty straight-forward action vid. We start with Spike's venture to rescue Faye from Vicious, then go right in to his assault on Vicious' headquarters. We see Spike go into an elevator, then cut to a couple of flashbacks which hit some lyric-sync and explain the reason for Spike's vendetta, namely the murder of Julia. Finally we come back to Spike, ready to exit the elevator and have the final confrontation with Vicious.
Cowboy Bebop had it all- action, comedy, drama- but at its heart it was a series about loss- lost loves, lost lives, lost memories- and it's this sense of loss that I wanted to focus on for this vid, specifically Faye's lost memories and her search for a place where she belongs.
The prologue has Faye coming to tears over the fact that she can't remember her childhood, and is followed by scenes in which she's alone, "the boys don't want to play with her anymore", and then she's running from this guy. It's at this point, though, that things start to turn around for her. It turns out that the guy just wants to help her, she gets some clues about her past, and even finds a home worth fighting for on the Bebop. It looks like things might have a happy ending when Faye regains her memories and goes to where her childhood home was, only to find that it's no longer there. The epilogue shows Faye pondering the fact that she can't go back to what was, and once again wondering where it is that she belongs.

I still like Vendetta better, you've got an eye for the action sync all right. For a song with such a strong presence, I thought you did a great job not being a slave to the obvious sync choices while still managing to make it work.

Glad you like Vendetta so much. The final confrontation scene about drove me crazy, trying to figure out what to sync to with all the disparate instruments going off.
Each vid had its own challenges, though. With Vendetta it was more technical- really listening to and interpreting the music- while with Valentine it was more creative. It was a real brain-strain trying to figure out how to tell the story I wanted to tell with only the footage at hand. With Valentine I was trying to present a familiar character in a new light, at least in a way that I've never seen her portrayed in a vid before, and perhaps touch people's hearts a little, so for me this was actually a little greater challenge.

Didn't notice much change from the betas, so you basically know what I think. Vendetta has some great flow without being too in-your-face, and Valentine was a nice tribute to Faye. Really feeling the Bebop love, and great music as usual
