Sadly they bought Atlantis from FOX when FOX decided to can their animation staff (Titan AE didn't do too well in the theaters)

so I hardly consider Atlantis to be a "Disney movie" as it is in name only. Still love it to pieces though :3

1. Disney isn't giving up on animation, they are giving up on princess/fairy tale movies for a while. I believe another Pooh movie is in the works. They are doing this because Princess and the Frog didn't go over too well and was muddled in controversy. (The first black princess...)
2. Pirates was an awesome movie that had a couple of pretty good sequels, but really that franchise only lives because Johnny Depp keeps coming back. I think it needs to end already, imho, before it goes bad.

Nothing new doesn't mean they won't continue to monetize their existing franchises for the next 50 years as much as they have been already.
Actually Disney has canned that entire staff, and no more shitty Disney direct-to-dvd sequels are going to be made either
