Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Corsair - The Return

Post by -Corsair- » Sat Jan 15, 2011 3:12 am

So after a long period of inactivity (pretty much since AWA) I decided to "return" to the org with this AMV.
I actually created it a while back, a good 5-6 months ago, but I only premiered it on Youtube.

I'd like some feedback about my flow, execution of effects, stylistic editing, etc.
They way I see it, I should have come a long way from the old days of WMM (or MAGIX for that matter)
Thanks a lot, hope you enjoy it. I really should start hitting the org more often...

Flow.
Stylistic editing.
Execution of effects.

I liked most the effects, especially the masking and the hexagons and the video is very nice and simplistic yet I can't help but feel like the song demands more FX work. At times I feel that the pacing was a little slow and I just didn't think the source really fitted with the song.

But in terms of editing, it was really neat.

From what I saw the flow and editing was all good, but I couldn't see the idea behind the graphics though. It was also technically good, I know you got a lot of potential, especially when it comes to typography works from what I've seen so far. My advice is to explore and evolve your concepts a bit more further before executing them.

Overall, Nice :3
