how to make a amv questions!!

I was bored one day, so i watch different amvs on youtube and i said to myself,"self how hard would it be to make one yourself"?
my sister recommended,(i think i mispelled that word), this site to get some pointers.
So now I have some questions!
1.what kind of dvd ripper/decrypter program do you recommend?
2.is it free?
3.what are the pros and cons?
4.is windows movie maker a good program to use for editing?

i might add more if i can think of any other questions.

1. A DVD ripper and some other programs that you may find useful are available in the AMVApp package (link downloads the zip directly).
2. Yes. So are the other tools in the pack.
3. Pros: footage doesn't look like butt, people won't harsh on you for using lossy-encoded internet files; Cons: does require some effort, and probably also some time reading the AV tech guide.
4. If you're comfortable with it, it's good enough at least to start.

Windows Movie Maker is okay for beginners, I guess. But once you've mastered it, it's probably better to get hold of something more advanced like Sony Vegas or After Effects.

You mean adobe premiere. After Effects is a composting program. it's not meant to be used as an NLE.

Some people have done it. I can't imagine how grueling it must have been, though.

Oh, i know people have done, i've done it on occasion when it was nessesary. But if you're going to jump from a linear to an NLE, you shouldn't be using AE for editing.

I believe you didn't typo After Effects, you put shit in, you get fertilizer out
