Vampire Hunting, Gun Busting, And Heaven Piercing

Post by Ultimatetransfan » Sun Oct 31, 2010 6:01 pm

Lots of stuff for you guys today. In honor of Halloween, I've made a a fast paced action packed AMV featuring Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust and Pendulum's 'Blood Sugar'.

Next on the list, Diebuster's Nono accompanied by Michael Bolton's 'Go The Distance'. I thought the song complimented Nono's struggles pretty accurately throughout the series, so it was a natural match.

And finally, a 5 part series. 5 TV intros/opening monologues from the television series, 'Reboot'. Long ago I saw an image showing parallels between the cast of TTGL and Reboot, and it stuck in my head. Several years later I acted on it, and I must say I'm very satisfied with the result.

I hope you all enjoy these videos as much as my friends and I do.

I noticed the Reboot collection in my Alerts so I had to stop pretending to write my essay and watch them. While I haven't seen much of TTGL, I know enough to appreciate the character match-ups. Daemon was definitely the most cohesive to my eyes. Every clip supported her overtaking the masses. Matrix handled the foley well, but it felt like one long scene, which weakens the trailer vibe that I get from the openings.

I liked Bob's ending a lot. You chose a great clip for "I intend to find out!" I also liked your clip choice for Enzo's scream in Megabyte's intro. I thought the lip sync at the end cut too often though, and a lot of the guns firing during the battle didn't make any noise, which broke the connection for me a bit. I'm a little confused why Dot was so Kittan-centric, and a lot of the timing (particularly during the monologue) felt inconsisent, but your shot selection varied more than in Matrix, so that's something.

Yeah, I actually went in and added sound effects for the battle during Megabyte and Matrix' intros. I guess I should have added a few more in in Megabyte's and possibly Dot's. Looking back I agree on what you're saying about Matrix' intro being mostly one long scene, as well as the focus on Kittan in Dot's intro. Great points all. Thanks for the advice.

out of the Gurren login vids, I think that that the third one was the best. It was edited a little better than the others, the sound effects matched perfectly, and it has a really badass feeling to it.

In terms of the bloodlust vid, I think that it far too long and you didn't have enough internal and beat sync. And I feel that the song you chose absolutely DEMANDS internal and beat sync.

I really liked the "go the distance" amv. It had a awesome beginning, and it almost immediately got you into the right mood. I feel that it started to loose some of its flare when you started to focus more on the battle and less on the emotion, but the ending was done really well.
