Thats why they speak now. And though i don't remember it in Xenogears usually you can skip large parts of reading just by speeding through it. Thats what i do if i have already played through a game.

Ugh... Don't even get me started on voice acting in games (FFX, tidus and yuna laughing... ::shivers::). Anyway, I guess you probably could skip through it, but with everybody telling me to play this game because of the awesome story, I didn't wanna miss any of it. The result was me taking 2 years to play the game because I couldn't handle the long talk sessions. Anyway, on topic, best RPG (in my opinion) is Final Fantasy Tactics. Great mix of gameplay and story, not to mention the incredible soundtrack. Now if only I could find my copy...

If its a stupid game why do you like it?

I am in complete agreement with Tactics. It is my alltime favorite game. I can't count how many times i've played it. I wish Square would make another upgraded version for PS2. You know same type but different.

Square is releasing a new FFT for the GBA, but it doesn't look at all like the first one. Oh, same battle system and all (well, I dunno about same, but it's close) but the story is something like a kid who wishes his world was different and ends up in "Ivalice". None of the political intrigue, backstabbing, and Zodiac Brave style villians. I'll probably end up at least looking into it, but I really doubt it will even come close to the original.

I had heard about it but i have the same feelings.

Final Fantasy Mystic Quest now that is an old and hard to find game. Unfortunately its one of the few that evades my collection. Isn't just supposed to be a copy of one of the earlier FFs anyways?

final fantasy 9  it makes me sad to see such a rich tradition of great game play and a great line of games disgraced by this. sure it had the awesome summoning moments like alexander (the best part of the whole game) and the others but the main guy looked like a girl and i didnt care for the cartoony look of it and it wasn't up to par with 7 and 8
as for 10 the only complaint i have about the talking is the voices. the guys need to sound a bit more manly other than that 10 rocks the casbaugh
