Re: Short Films, PSAs, Music Videos?
I'm not personally looking to get into the film aspect of video, but I've worked with friends at school on 24 hour and 48 hour film contests. My role generally is the technical director/support. I also shoot and clean up the final edit and handle final export to needed formats. We did these more for fun and experience than actually trying to win anything. Also, when the school is paying for everything it makes it a lot easier. Here are some the the short films we've done for the 24 and 48 hour film contests.
Our first 48 hour contest in 2008.

24 hour contest 2009. A good example of why not to shoot green screen for a 24 hour contest. I told them if the render goes bad there is no time to fix it, but noooooo. Oh yeah, try to ignore the lav mics (our boom mic died at the beginning of shooting).

48 hour contest 2009. Our genre was "superhero" and by the end of shooting we didn't have a name for the hero. So, the group used The Defenestrator that I suggested when brainstorming. However, he defenestrates nothing. People don't think rationally when lacking sleep.

24 hour contest 2010.

Got to shoot with the Red One for this one. I wish we got to do a lot more with the Red, but learning the camera and workflow at the same time as shooting and editing restricted what we could do. Oh, and forgetting a tripod for this beast of a camera is a bad idea. Thankfully, a dolly, apple boxes, and sandbags came to the rescue.

A random video we did because we needed to spend some extra money the school gave us. So we rented 2 HVX200's and used a friend of mines Sony Z5U and T1i to shoot a video of the St. Paul 2010 Red Bull Flugtag. This was a lot of fun!

And finally a quick video I did for a short time I had a Canon 7D.

Re: Short Films, PSAs, Music Videos?
I did post this before, but we had this certain project during our assignment in Hyper Island. We simply had 3 weeks to come up with an idea to integrate both technology and animation, this wasn't a simple task of course. Our group ended up doing a short 3D movie during those three weeks by experimenting the stereoscopy aspects, and it worked just fine.

Re: Short Films, PSAs, Music Videos?
Most have been school projects or contests, though a friend recently asked me to make a trailer for his Flash game, seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wK_oIQjE8Zs
Me and my class did this in the 48-Hour Film Festival in '08 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpopknyGyG8
I did a rough cut of the living room scene that was eventually dropped, and us three(!) editors were having a lot of trouble agreeing on some things. So the teacher took it from us. :p

I'm getting a new Canon 550D within the coming month, hopefully by then there'll be more shorts and non-animated clips coming from me.
Not that I really have shared any of my earlier work here before, due to embaressment of it not being the best I could do. Or something like that.

I got to work with the Canon 5D Mark II over summer, now I love canons! Hopefully once I graduate I'll get myself a rig and cam too ;_;
also... I shall post some of my short film stuff on here once I find time (and the will) to upload them >>; XDD
