Just a friendly reminder that there is only 1 week before the deadline for the contest. Those of you who are waiting to submit a last minute entry (or working on one) need to get a move on.
Entry Form submissions and FTP Account Requests will close promptly at Midnight Oct 2nd EDT. So you will have all day on Friday to submit your entry form and request an FTP account. However once the clock strikes Midnight the system WILL be shut down for new entries. Please don't wait until the last minute. There is no guarantee that you will be able to submit your entry before the closing of the system if you are submitting requests at 11:59. All entry forms are time stamped so any that fall through the cracks will be DQ'ed!
Remember, once your entry form and request is submitted you will have the rest of the weekend to finish uploading your entry. All FTP accounts will close on Midnight, Oct 4th EDT. The FTP Server WILL shut down at this time. Those of you who are still connected and sending your entry will be allowed to continue to send your video(s), however once you disconnect you will be out of luck. So get your entries in EARLY!
I will accept mail-in entries that make it to my hands by Oct 4th. That is, if I receive your package on the Monday following the deadline I will accept it. I will dis-regard all mail-in's that reach my doorstep after this time. This is NOT a postmark deadline, this is a receipt deadline! If you can't send your video via FTP then get your entries in the mail NOW or pony up for overnight shipping!
Keep in mind that after the system closes it will take me a day or two to finish QC on all entries that have been submitted last minute. Once all entries have been checked I will update this thread stating to check your entry status. From this time you will be given a few days to request and submit a fixed version of your video if your video was DQ'ed or found to have issues. Keep in mind however, while we allow for resubmissions, you are only given 1 chance to fix your entry after the deadline! I can only extend this courtesy for a limited amount of time as we have many entries to watch through for final QC and approval as well as judging.
The moral of this story, the sooner your entries are sent in, the sooner you'll know if your entries are fine!

Re: Youmacon 2010 MV & Hentai Contest: Deadline Tonight!
Hi, me again. Just sending out the final reminder that the deadline is TONIGHT! Both Entry Form submissions and FTP Requests will be cut off at Midnight TONIGHT! (Eastern Daylight Savings Times, -4 GMT)
For those of you waiting until the last possible moment to get your entry form and ftp request in please keep in mind that I will not be available to grant FTP Requests all day today. Due to work and business I have to attend to tonight I may not be able to process requests until after the deadline. This does not mean that you cannot request up until the deadline, just that you will not receive your FTP account right away. As long as your entry form is submitted and you request an FTP account you will be fine. (Basically, if your entry status shows the Close Account button you are fine) Due to this the entry system may remain open on the system side later then Midnight. DO NOT think that because you are able to still submit an entry form that it will be accepted after Midnight. All entries are timestamped and any that are sent in late WILL BE DQ'ed! So make sure you get your entry forms in EARLY!
Remember, this deadline is just for Entry Forms and FTP Requests. You will have the rest of the weekend to submit your entries over FTP. The FTP server will be closed at Midnight October 4th (Eastern Daylight Savings Times, -4 GMT). Those of you who have larger files and waited until the last moment will be allowed to stay connected as long as you are already connected until your connection closes, however you will not be allowed back on if you are disconnected for any reason. Those of you who try to connect after Midnight will not be allowed on at all.
Every year I get entry forms and FTP users who try to wait until the last possible moment and end up missing the boat. Don't let this happen to you. Submit early!

Re: Youmacon 2010 MV & Hentai Contest is now closed
Thank you to everyone who entered. The Music Video and Hentai Contests are now officially closed. Those of you who had outstanding FTP accounts but never uploaded your video(s) better luck next year.
As for re-submissions. It may take me a day or two to go through all the videos submitted at the last moment as well as do final QC on every video. I will make an announcement when all videos have been QC'ed and entry status has been updated to reflect that. For those of you who's videos are DQ'ed I will contact you directly to inform you of this DQ and give you instructions for re-submission if you care to take part in it. You will be given 1 chance to fix your entry and at most I can grant a few days after I send the announcement for you to submit your fixed version. The exact re-submission deadline will be announced along with the entry update announcement.
Finally, a list of finalists who have made it through final QC as well as our pre-screening and judging will be announced within 1 week of the convention. You may also check the entry status page in order to see if your video has been either "Accepted" or "Accepted for Overflow". However, all entries that make it passed final QC should compete unless we go over our allotted 4 hour time slot. Then, and only then, will entries submitted to the contest (non-exhibition) will be cut from the contest.
Any questions, please send them to vat [AT] youmacon [dot] com

Re: Youmacon 2010 MV & Hentai Contest is now closed
All videos have gone through the final QC. Entry status has been updated to reflect the video's status after QC. If your video passed QC and will be going on to judging then your video will be marked at "Video Checked". If your video did not pass QC for any reason your video will show "Problems Found" as well as a Yes in the DQ field and information on the DQ in the comments.
If you find that your video was DQ'ed you may request an FTP account to re-submit a fixed version of your entry. However you will be given only 1 chance to correct your entry. The deadline for Re-submissions is Oct 8. This is a hard deadline as all open accounts will be shut off on Oct 8. That is aprox 60 hours from this posting.
As a final clarification, only entries that were submitted will be able to be re-submitted. That is, if your video was DQ'ed because it was never sent in before the deadline then your entry is in-eligible for re-submission.
