Around 10 days ago, Senator Patrick J. Leahy introduced the, "The Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act", and I thought it very well could potentially affect the org, so I wanted to start a discussion about it. They shall begin voting later today, September 30, 2010 (Thursday) @ 10am.
I highly encourage you to read the following article:

And the bill itself:

It seems the government is out to screw us once again.
The bill would give the Department of Justice the power to bar any websites that are "dedicated to infringing activities." Because that's so broad, I'm terribly afraid that the org could very easily fall into that category. I feel as if Senator Patrick is trying to ram legislation down our throats as a result of pressure from his corporate donors. Politician greed at its best.
Government loves to abuse the power it already has, so why should we think this will be any different? If anything else, it severely limits free speech and promotes censorship.
I think in all our hearts, we knew this day would come.
I generally try to avoid the use of profanity but for this I'll make an exception.
FUCK THEIR BULLSHIT LEGISLATION!
