  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

First try... I hope you think it's great :)

This is my first shot at making an AMV. A friend of mine got me hooked on GTO, and since then, I've been playing around with a few ideas for some AMVs based on GTO. This is one of my ideas, and I hope you enjoy it.

Onizuka's Boys (3MB .wmv file)

This is a not-yet-ready-for-submission version of my AMV.... I intend to tweak it and send it in for the AMV contest at Katsucon in February.

I appreciate any feedback you have for me! Thanks!!

please no, I love GTO, but that is so small there is no way the video or audio could be of any quality. In fact, I just downloaded it and yeah, the quality is bad.

Now don't get me wrong, this is a nice idea and you strung the clips together in an ok manner, but if you are going to do anything with this it needs to be encoded at a much higher quality. I am amazed at the how high the quality is for the file size but still, even the audio is suffering at 100Kbps

Thanks. I would like to know how I can get a happy medium going between file size and video quality. I wish I could get the ALMOST-ready-for-submission version online, but it's a huge file, and NBCi.com is dead. :)

The version I have on my website will most definitely NOT be the version I submit to Katsucon. I do have higher-quality versions available, but I don't know of any place offhand where I can store them. Where's a good place to start?

Again, like I said, I'm continuously tweaking it, and again, I love feedback. :)

Jeez, talk about me being a real newbie (eek!)

But I did check out the "hosting" sticky at the top of the message board, and I checked out one of the hosting sites, and I got myself a brand-spanking-new domain name and hosting space for my stuff :) Yay :)

I'll let you all know when I have uploaded a better-quality version of my AMV soon :) at which point you can THEN send me some more feedback on my efforts :)

Thanks again.....

Ah, great, I was really hoping you had a higher quallity version :D When you say huge, how huge exactly is it? 40Meg? 70Meg? 100Meg? Because those are all actually reasonable file sizes for good to very high quallity. Most people around here pay for hosting and will have their own website set up on the server, as you can see I have a geocities account, therefor...yeah.

For this month only you can click the link in my sig to get my video, it is part of a bandwidth test for Gottanames new server and free to me (but not for much longer).
/end shameless plug :P

I'm really glad you included the sumo-arcade part, that was a really funny part in the series. It's kinda hard to tell with this really low quallity version but you did a good job with some of the transition effect that (I'm asuming you used WMM, but I may be wrong) you're limited to by the editing program. It looks good and has a good feel to it, but if your going to submit it for a contest I suggest continually re-working the syncing to get it ever better.

You will be happy to know I have uploaded a higher-quality version online. It's 21 MB large. I can make it bigger if you want, hee :)

I kept most of the transitions simple. Only one wipe and one page peel; the rest are dissolves or cuts or fade-to-black.

Hey, I still have time, the deadline is the 24th of this month :) Thanks for the feedback and encouragement.
