Perhaps Ileia was right in that there was a glitch in all the mp4 encodes and pulled them?CodeZTM wrote:Uh... Is it just me or did ALL the Mp4's just leave ?

Considering I can get up to about 2.3mbps I'm thinking I might leave it a couple of days until everyone else has grabbed there's >.>Sephiroth wrote:i'm getting about 200 kb/s right now, currently on 33 of 60 entries.

I just noticed the lack of mp4s as well. Currently getting about 300kbps right now from the server.
Just a side note everyone who uses the CCCP should make sure they have the Haali splitter up to date. I noticed many mp4s would play off-sync and once I updated to the newest release it fixed the issue. Just a possibility that it may be on the user's end, but it could also be on the encoder's end as well too I suppose.
edit: Seems as though the mp4's are back and fixed. I checked my own vids and didn't notice any problems. Don't know about anyone elses tho.

The mp4's have been replaced for downloads but nothing's been changed. However we are seeing a convergence of potential issues, including but not limited to out of date splitters as ngsilver mentions, that may result in some degree of audio desynchronization. I'll put together a more comprehensive explanation later when I get time but for now please understand that the mpeg2 versions of the files are the ones that we'll use for the convention. To my knowledge there are no discernible issues with those copies, but they are obviously larger and take longer to download. The mp4 versions were created and provided as a smaller download courtesy but if there are issues it's just not worth it.
If you want to stick with the mp4 downloads, please grab a couple first and see if you have any issues before fully committing to the download. You're obviously going to be familiar with the quirks of your own video(s), but I can personally recommend #2 and #5 as they each have distinctive timing elements (lip sync and beat) to compare against.
If you see any issues with your own video(s), please verify against the mpeg2 version and contact me with the details.

I decided to grab the mpeg2 mostly since, as you mentioned, they're the ones you'll use for the contest, it'll be easier to add them to the amv archive we have for acen once the contest is done and over.kholaras wrote:The mp4's have been replaced for downloads but nothing's been changed.
