The show's entire premise lives off being gratuitous so I can't fault it. Their intent is clearly over the top sexy and over the top violence. It's the same thing as Tenjou Tenge basically. If Tenjou Tenge didn't have sexy female T&A it wouldn't have the same appeal or market success it had.ZephyrStar wrote:fanservice is just way the fuck too over the top.
Yea that's a hard thing to get from JP guys especially if its an otaku show. The closest thing to a comedy + horror mix I can think of is occult academy. Thing is true pop Japanese humor doesn't really meld well with horror. It's gag stuff. The best thing I can think of was a segment on one of the Downtown Gaki no Tsukai batsu game specials. It was basically a long segment of guys freaking out at the simplest things. Keep in mind even for otaku mainstream gag stuff is popular. Look at Arakawa, Masaru-san, Gag Manga Byori, and countless others that never got anime that have been popular in Jump and the like for years. But if you look at those they are often so random or non sequitur it's going to be hard to mix them with zombie violence. I think you need really need to go either slapstick or dark comedy.ZephyrStar wrote:Yeah, I guess it's more of a personal thing. Probably stems from my desire to see something along the lines of Shaun of the Dead the anime. :p
