Editing a forum post?

So... is there any kind of reasoning to the edit button showing up or not showing up on one of your posts? I think that maybe one in ten posts I make actually have the edit button afterwards, and it seems completely random. At first I thought if I left the thread and came back the edit button would disappear but now I've noticed it not showing up even when I stay in the thread immediately after posting.

The edit button only appears in a few key forum areas for non-donators. It's everywhere for donors, kind of as an incentive/perk, much like being able to embed videos in the annoucements forum or having no download wait times.

If you are really worried you can use the "preview" button before posting and check over your post that way to make sure you don't need to fix anything. It's a good habit to have either way.
