I say it's time to focus on what really matters; the videos. Who's with me? See I Love Editing, OK? Editing is having a ridiculously huge rig setup in a tiny one room apartment. Staying up till three AM to earn a trophy and plush toy that isn't worth it... but IS. And it's girls who know that a way to a man's heart is through an epic action sync. I. Love. Editing. And I know you love it too. That's why you're here. Why millions of people are pretending to work while the read this at their desk! It's why we made the AMV contest; so every person on this great spinning marble will be able to get a taste of AMV sugar. Families, kids, grandparents, and you hardcore guys? I'm talking about you. Don't hate on them. No, don't do it. Look at it this way, if you've got an awesome girlfriend, and them someone else gets an awesome girlfriend, you know who wins? EVERYONE. [..] And the AMV contest? The AMV contest brings a whole lot more editing to the table. Because every editor is a true editor. Amateur editors, pro editors, everyone. And though we may pledge fanboy allegiances to different flags, deep down inside we all serve one master, on king. And his name is Editing, forever may he reign!

I kind of want to hear this read dramatically at the IE now. Hell, I'll do it myself if Waldo will let me have the mike.

A random suggestion for this year or next-- but I always find it hard to identify all the AMV editors at the con (besides maybe randomly sitting next to one in those super special awesome seats during the AMV contest). So, perhaps we should all wear some identifying clothing, pin, hair piece, face paint, symbol....something, to say we serve the Editing King.

So, perhaps we should all wear some identifying clothing, pin, hair piece, face paint, symbol....something, to say we serve the Editing King.

You mean, like the official Org badge? I would always wear mine to Otakon, with my smiling Kaoru avatar, until I stopped doing it last year (I believe), because no one else was doing it and it didn't seem right to wear it while in cosplay. Actually, even in 2003 and 2004 I was the only one doing it at Otakon.

(WHY can't I find the actual page on the site that explains the badge?)

I'm not attending this year :/ but this stuff's just crazy. I'd really like to know how they're losing space? Did the hilton kick us out? like wtf. Remeber otakon 2007 when everything was awesome and everyone got along and there was a sickkkk main events room with FIVE FREAKIN SCREENS FOR AMV VIEWING PLEASURE??? Yeah.... so do I. [/nostalgia]

I'll be donning the "I'm cool with One-Winged Angel Productions" badge (if that's how friend badges go as I only have my finalist badge from last year ).
