Re: [DP]Sullen
okay, seems like the gaurry guy made this topic very active after all...
I liked the vid.
The music and the climax are very cool, but I rly didn't understand the brutal cuts in the music.
Is just like you took me out of the trip =/
3.5/5

"brutal cuts" hmm.. actually there was only one cut near the end, but that's pretty much it. The rest is just how the song goes.
Wouldn't really call it brutal, but it's noticeable. However, if I had dragged the song out a bit longer it would have taken away what i was trying to achieve.
I couldn't afford any extra stuff added for the sake of a small abrupt, so I just went with it.
Gaurry, didn't make this topic active, this amv did.

I just said brutal because I liked the music and when you are going with the flow and suddenly it changes is very sad after all =/Sennin wrote:Hi there, thanks for watching.Daisuke_Z wrote:okay, seems like the gaurry guy made this topic very active after all...

I understand your point, but I think you got ways to make the cut less noticeable, as you said.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not punking around I liked this amv a lot. I just want to put 100% of my perceptions inside your next videos without any intermission
One cut? I kinda felt 2.... at 01:27 and one in the 01:59, which one is right?
well... I don't care

Yes, they both were cuts but 1:27 is a minor, and yea the 1:59 is a noticeable one.Daisuke_Z wrote:I just said brutal because I liked the music and when you are going with the flow and suddenly it changes is very sad after all =/Sennin wrote:Hi there, thanks for watching.Daisuke_Z wrote:okay, seems like the gaurry guy made this topic very active after all...

But you have to take the song length into consideration, as well. The song length is 4:09, which is far too long for a amv.
If you've watched, Jin Roh, you'll know how limited editing material there is to work with.
As much as I love listening to this whole song, I had to make some sacrifices to keep the amv entertaining while showing some story behind it.
Maybe your right about it being less noticeable, but I tried several different ways, and honestly after several attempts this was the best I could get out of it.
I had a limit on the time because I didn't wanted to add anymore stuff that will take away the story and emotions I was trying to create here. It probably would have been less noticeable if I had dragged the song few seconds, but I couldn't afford extending the video.

Never was interested to this movie until now, outstanding work!
You really nailed it with the whole dramatic atmosphere and the color tone it deserved.
Looking forward to your works, and I'm really hoping aswell that this will be nominated as best first video.
Good job
The movie seems a bit too violent for my taste, always had a weak spot when it comes to women and children getting killed and etc.. but the plot looks interesting nonetheless.

Is it really? I don't think so... Maybe for your style or the theme you were going for, perhaps. But I think 3-4 minutes is the sweet spot, as far as I'm concerned.Sennin wrote:But you have to take the song length into consideration, as well.
